| Each pair should choose a report and read it carefully. |
| After reading, young people are gathered in a circle. |
A debate is held on the image in the media regarding the third age. The following issues should be raised:
- How is the senior portrayed in the media?
- What terms are usually associated with the third age? (e.g. "oldies", "grandpas", "little old ladies", etc.).
- What feelings do these terms cause in readers?
- What type of news is associated with seniors? (E.g. news of a tragedy, mood, health, etc.).
| Finally, the educator poses possible stereotypes about the third age enhanced or reinforced by the media and offers alternative approaches to the theme. |
